L&rsquo;origine du mus\u00e9e remonte \u00e0 1840 lorsque la mairie accepte de r\u00e9aliser des locaux pour conserver les drapeaux pris \u00e0 la Royal Navy lors de la bataille contre Horatio Nelson en 1797. Le b\u00e2timent de style classique est construit au d\u00e9but de 1929 par l&rsquo;architecte Eladio Laredo.<\/p>\n<p>Le mus\u00e9e compos\u00e9 de quatorze salles comporte, en plus de son fonds propre, un d\u00e9p\u00f4t d&rsquo;\u0153uvres du mus\u00e9e du Prado de Madrid. Il abrite une collection d&rsquo;art allant de la peinture flamande du xvie \u00e0 la peinture du xxe si\u00e8cle, une exposition de sculpture et d&rsquo;arts mineurs. Ses \u0153uvres les plus remarquables sont le Triptyque de Nava y Grim\u00f3n du peintre flamand Pieter Coecke van Aelst, L&rsquo;Expulsion des marchands du temple et L&rsquo;Entr\u00e9e du Christ \u00e0 J\u00e9rusalem du peintre canarien Juan de Miranda, l&rsquo;Immacul\u00e9e baroque de Gaspar Afonso de Quevedo, le Saint Andr\u00e9 et le Saint Joseph de Jos\u00e9 de Ribera, le Portrait de Fernando Visca\u00ed de Joaqu\u00edn Sorolla y Bastida, etc[\/vc_column_text][dfd_spacer screen_wide_spacer_size=\u00a0\u00bb20&Prime;
