Im Dezember 1999 wurde es endg\u00fcltig zum Weltkulturerbe erkl\u00e4rt. Dieses historische Zentrum, eines der charakteristischsten Beispiele f\u00fcr eine Art st\u00e4dtischer Struktur, die w\u00e4hrend des Kolonialisierungsprozesses in Lateinamerika entwickelt wurde, beh\u00e4lt seinen gitterf\u00f6rmigen Grundriss bei. Ende des 16. Jahrhunderts und w\u00e4hrend der Regierungszeit Felipes II.
